Andenet Meredaja Edir is a mutual aid organization established to support the families of its members, especially during times of loss.

​

Membership is exclusively for Ethiopians and those married to Ethiopians who reside in Oakland and the surrounding cities and counties surrounding the Alameda County. This community-based Edir is rooted in our tradition, culture, and heritage, and exists to uphold the longstanding Ethiopian practice of supporting one another in times of need.

​

We welcome Ethiopians who share these values to join and strengthen our collective commitment to mutual care and cultural continuity.

Eligibility Criteria:

​

• Age:  Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

​​

• Residence: Applicants must reside in Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, surrounding  cities and counties.

​​

• Commitment to AME’s Mission: Prospective members must fully understand the purpose and objectives of AME and agree to comply with the organization’s governing rules and policies as outlined in the bylaws.
